My greatgreatgrandmother was Mary Vass who James Barford married In Kensworth, Hertford England 19th October 1844. Mary's parents were Joseph Vass and Sarah Smith they were married 11 august 1814 at the same place. I think Joseph was born about 1791. Their seem to be Vass's
at Luton Bedford also Smiths and Barford's around that area.
So I suppose the families, association goes quite a way back.
My Barford family shifted to Sydney Australia in the late 1850's
the Vass's may have shifted out there at the same time I could
check for you. I now live in New Zealand with my family. |
